NearShore Technology is a proud partner and sponsor of the Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF). Every year CAF hosts the Million Dollar Challenge (MDC). MDC is a life-changing cycling event, where participants can make a difference in the lives of others. The cycle journey begins on October 12th in Palo Alto, California, and finishes on October 18th in San Diego, California. The 620 mile ride raises $1 million for challenged athletes.
NearShore Technology’s executive team and their sister company, Nicklaus Brown & Co. sponsored the CAF 2019 Million Dollar Challenge and raised almost $40K, which contributed to the $1.5M that was raised in total.
“Participating in the CAF MDC created one of those rare experiences that helps define who you are for the rest of your life. I was lucky enough to get to know many of the direct beneficiaries of the CAF community. These are strong willed people who use athletics to overcome trauma, stigma, and difference. They are everyday people, role models, professional athletes, veterans, and gold medalists, but unfortunately they are often ignored or set aside by society. I had the honor of getting to know many CAF athletes personally after riding 3,500 miles together in training over almost ten months, and 620 miles during the MDC event. I’m proud I was part of the team that raised nearly $1.5M dollars for CAF this year. I made a lot of great new friends through CAF and the MDC experience that I’m sure will last a lifetime,” said Yancy W. Riddle, Chief Operating Officer.
CAF provides opportunities and support to people with physical challenges, so they can pursue active lifestyles through physical fitness and competitive athletics.
