Responsibilities

  • Works on multiple simultaneous complex projects and issues diverse in scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
  • Analyzes and interprets data to determine appropriate syntax, style and grammatical usage required for documents.
  • Develop high-quality usable   documents.   
  • The documents include the following types:
    • User Guide, On-line Help
    • Install and Support
    • Field Service
    • Reports Booklet
    • Pocket Guide, Go-Live
    • Upgrade, Release Notes
    • any other product specific ad hoc documents.
  • Support team initiatives:
    • Complete peer review of assigned documents
    • Complete verification of assigned documents, develop schedules for   assigned documents
    • Complete status report.
    • Attend, prepare for, and participate in weekly staff meetings
    • Collaborate with team members.
    • Provide a value-add service to the team by acting as a recognized subject matter expert for an integral   software tool (FrameMaker, WebWorks, Word), indexing standards, illustration   policy and procedures, or Technical Manual expertise
  • Introduce new tools that keep   the department on the cutting edge of technology. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • BA in English, Journalism or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a fast paced software development environment with a proven track record of initiating, researching, planning, and driving the completion of comprehensive documentation sets that are complex in nature.
  • Extensive experience with FrameMaker, Office, screen capture tools, illustration software, and Acrobat. Excellent writing, grammar, indexing, and editing skills.
  • Excellent interview and follow-up skills.
  • Demonstrate a high level of initiative. Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to use logic and creativity to solve complex problems.
  • Ability to evaluate documentation requirements for new projects.
  • Ability to effectively manage the delivery of priority tasks. Experience with WebWorks, Documentum, FrameLink, IXGEN, Illustrator, and CorelDraw.
