We are looking for a passionate Database Engineer to help be responsible for the large-scale data store environments. This team is responsible for providing new architectures and scalability solutions to ever growing business and data processing needs. Individual will need to provide innovative solution in terms of ever-growing hardware and database capacity need.

Location: Merida, Puebla or Remote.


Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with other software engineers as the database SME to design, build, and optimize our real-time, multi-tenant-based product.
  • Develop/maintain scripts to automate routine performance workflows.
  • Analyze and recommend approval or improvements to developer proposed database objects included in new development for production applications.
  • Work closely with the Development, DBA, QA, Security and IT teams to test and benchmark application performance and drive toward continuous improvement.
  • Performance tuning at various levels App Code, SQL Layer, RDBMS engine and Operating System.
  • Analyze the application and database object and provide suggestions and recommendations to Performance Engineering optimize performance (Analytic, Problem Solving).
  • Develop performance test plans of database objects.
  • Develop/maintain scripts to automate routine performance workflows.
  • Design, develop and execute performance tests as part of the software development lifecycle to find any performance issues.
  • Evaluate and select performance test tools.
  • Drive code optimization to meet the company’s performance objectives.

Requirements

3+ years’ experience in designing high throughput database platforms.
3-5 years of experience with database development and administration.
3+ years of experience with cloud deployment (AWS, Azure, etc.).
Advanced understanding of Microsoft SQL Server, No SQL databases Performance Tuning in SQL, Tracing, and Data Structures.
Strong understanding of both relational and document database paradigms.
Good understanding of the internals of RDBMS engines, tracing, processes, physical layer, and logical layers is required.
Experience in various Clustering and Sharding architectures.
Experience with GIT flow
• Experience with CI/CD for relational and document databases
• Nice to Have: Database Experience (e.g., Cassandra, HBase, Mongo, Redis, etc.)
